Financial Model of Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) for Bioenergy Resources in Pakistan

For agriculture-based economies, energy generation through biomass is currently among the few practical means for overcoming and environmental crisis. However, economic assessment bioenergy poses significant challenges to developing nations due limited availability of data existing financial models. This study therefore conducts an Pakistan based on Levelized Cost Electricity (LCOE) those technologies which are commercially available in countries. These vary from thermal processes such as gasification or incineration turbines bio-chemical anaerobic digestion. LCOE modeling was performed a mathematical set equations driven by input parameters i.e., Feedstock price, total capital cost, auxiliary operation maintenance capacity factor, plant lifecycle. The results obtained depicted that may low $0.06/kWh high $0.315/kWh. Combustion techniques like stoker boiler Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) have lower cost yield better value with ranging $0.06-0.22/kWh. Further, feedstock most dominant factor contributes approximately 60% LCOE. Hence, make economically viable, sustainable supply chain essential. will not only provide sound alternative countries, but it also contribute towards social sustainability.
